In this first segment of our Microsoft Project Essentials webinar series Amanda will instruct users on the Topics Getting Started with Microsoft Project and Defining the Project.
Getting Started with Microsoft Project
Learn about the MS Project interface, navigation elements, ribbons and other elements of the Project Interface as the Start Screen, Project Screen, and Backstage view are covered via lecture and demonstration. Also covered will be working with views. We'll examine the types of views available such as Task Views, Resource Views, Usage views, and more. Navigation of views and tables will also be discussed and demonstrated.
Defining the Project
Once you have learned the basics of the Microsoft Project interface it is time to learn about the critical elements of project definition. We'll look at creating a project schedule and setting it's start date. What is the Project Summary task and how it helps get the "big picture" of your project schedule. Also covered will be the Task Mode setting and how to set the default. We'll take a look at some of the available MS Project options follow by the Project Calendar, and it's importance to creating a realistic timeline and how to create calendar exceptions and additional calendars.
