When the need arises, for instance when no search results are found, a rebuild of the search index may be necessary for DNN. Depending on the level of access you have, there are two ways in which to perform this”
Scenario 1: Perform with DNN Host admin section
Log in to DNN as a HOST super user account
- From Host > Advanced Settings, Select SQL
- Copy and Paste the 4 lines below into the Script text box
- truncate table {databaseOwner}{objectQualifier}SearchItemWordPosition
DELETE {databaseOwner}{objectQualifier}SearchItemWord
DELETE {databaseOwner}{objectQualifier}SearchWord
DELETE {databaseOwner}{objectQualifier}SearchItem - Select Checkbox for Run as script
- Click Execute
Scenario 2: Access to SSMS and the DNN database is available
- Launch SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)
- Click the New Query button
- Select the appropriate DNN database from the available databases drop down list box
- paste the following 4 lines into the Query Editor
- truncate table SearchItemWordPosition
delete SearchItemWord
delete SearchWord
delete SearchItem - Press F5 or click the Execute button to execute the query
In both cases, the scheduler should automatically rebuild the index.
